ONE Orinda Network for Education

Orinda Network for Education (ONE) is an educational foundation that strengthens, streamlines, and amplifies the collective fundraising efforts of all six of our Parents’ Clubs, as well as Orinda's residential, alumni, and business communities.

While Orinda schools are among the top 1% in California in terms of performance, they rank at the bottom when it comes to state funding. Due to the California state funding formula, the shortfall Orinda schools face continues to grow on an annual basis. While Orinda’s parcel tax revenue is used toward attracting and maintaining quality teachers and bond measures are reserved for the repair and upgrade of our aging school buildings to keep them modern and safe, ONE raises the funds required to advance the academic experience beyond what is possible with public dollars alone.

To bridge the gap between state funding and the actual cost to educate each student in Orinda, on an annual basis, ONE will:

  • Support and enhance the educational TK - 12 experience of each student in Orinda’s six public schools: the 5 schools that fall under OUSD jurisdiction - Del Rey Elementary, Glorietta Elementary, Sleepy Hollow Elementary, Wagner Ranch Elementary, Orinda Intermediate School (OIS) - as well as Orinda’s Miramonte High School - which falls under AUHSD.
  • Raise the funds required to advance academic excellence in Orinda public schools beyond what is possible with public dollars alone.
  • Provide a forum for all Orinda Parents’ Clubs to collaborate and share best practices, ensuring the effective, efficient, and equitable use of resources to enhance a high quality educational experience for Orinda students, teachers, and staff.
  • Connect Orinda school Parents’ Clubs, local businesses, and community members in partnership through fundraising efforts to support education for all Orinda students.
  • Offer access to better investment opportunities with oversight and management by building an endowment, which will sustain Orinda schools and the student experience into the future.

ONE relies on the generosity of school families, community members, alumni, and local businesses to provide the necessary funding that bridges the gap between state funding and the actual cost to educate each student in Orinda on an annual basis. Your donations to ONE help to fund smaller class sizes, technology, STEAM programs, Wellness Centers and Counselors, middle school electives, expanded high school course offerings (including Honors and Advanced Placement classes), increased College & Career services, and more!
